Just like silly signs and silly news, silly laws do exist in the United States. Regular citizens are helpless to resist the awesome power of silly laws to make us all smile. Alaska  No one may tie their pet dog to the roof of a car.

Arizona    Donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs.

Arkansas   Dogs may not bark after 6 PM.

California    It is a misdemeanor to shoot at any kind of game from a moving vehicle, unless the target is a whale.

Colorado  One may not mutilate a rock in a state park.

 Delaware        Rehoboth Beach city law – One may not whisper in church.

 Florida            Men may not be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown.

 Georgia          No one may carry an ice cream cone in their back pocket if it is Sunday.

 Hawaii            Coins are not allowed to be placed in one’s ears.

 Idaho              You may not fish on a camel’s back.

 Illinois            You may be arrested for vagrancy if you do not have at least $1 on your person.

 Indiana           Liquor stores may not sell milk.

 Iowa               Kisses may last for no more than five minutes.

 Kansas            If two trains meet on the same track, neither shall proceed until the other has passed.

 Kentucky       Throwing eggs at a public speaker could result in up to one year in prison.

 New Jersey     It is illegal to wear a bullet-proof vest while committing a murder.

 New Mexico  Idiots may not vote.

 New York      A fine of $25 can be levied for flirting.

 North Carolina    Elephants may not be used to plow cotton fields.

 North Dakota      Beer and pretzels can’t be served at the same time in any bar or  restaurant.

 Ohio               It is illegal to fish for whales on Sunday.

 Oklahoma       People who make “ugly faces” at dogs may be fined and/or jailed.

 Oregon           Dishes must drip dry.

 Pennsylvania     It it illegal to sleep on top of a refrigerator outdoors.

 Rhode Island     One must make a loud noise before passing a car on the left.

 South Carolina   Every adult male must bring a rifle to church on Sunday to ward off Indian attacks.

 South Dakota     It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep in a cheese factory.

 Tennessee       Driving is not to be done while asleep.

 Texas              Encyclopedia Britannica is banned  because it has a formula for making homemade beer.

 Utah               It is illegal to detonate any nuclear weapon.

 Vermont         At one time it was illegal to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole.

 Virginia          It is illegal to tickle women.

 Washington    It is illegal to pretend that one’s parents are rich.
