What so great about March 31.

On March 31 in the year . . . .

 

 

  • 1880 – The first electric street lights installed by a municipality were turned on in Wabash, IN.
  • 1889 – The Eiffel Tower opened today.
  • 1918 – Daylight saving time went into effect throughout the United States for the first time.  
  • 1951 – The first commercial US made computer, UNIVAC I, was delivered to the United States Census Bureau.
